ot every item needs to be dry cleaned right away—but that doesn’t mean you should toss it in the washer. Here are simple, effective home laundering tips to help keep your wardrobe fresh between professional cleanings.
Care labels are your cheat sheet. If it says “Dry Clean Only,” trust it. For machine-washable items, check for water temperature, drying method, and whether it should be turned inside out.
Sort by both color and fabric type. Wash lightweight items like T-shirts separately from heavier garments like jeans to avoid damage and improve cleaning efficiency.
Stick to mild, fragrance-free detergents—especially for cotton, wool, or anything you wear close to the skin. Avoid using too much detergent, which can leave residue and stiffen fabric.
Cold water is gentler on clothes and helps preserve colors and fabric integrity. It’s also more energy efficient.
Heat is tough on fabrics. Air dry anything made of cotton, silk, or wool by laying it flat or hanging it on a padded hanger. If you must use a dryer, opt for a low-heat, short cycle.
A handheld steamer is a great way to refresh garments, remove wrinkles, and kill bacteria—without the risk of scorching delicate fabrics.
Unless it's visibly dirty or smells, many items (especially denim or knits) can be worn multiple times between washes. Overwashing leads to fading, pilling, and fabric breakdown.
Some things are better left to the pros—think: silk, linen, wool, and embellished garments. Our pickup & delivery service makes it easy to care for what matters most.
